But the point is, each track can be set differently. So when I load a Bidule Rewire plugin on a track, the option dropdown on that plugin lets me select which of those outputs I want fed to that track. Each one of those outputs at the bottom of the Bidule window is separate from the other - they are not mixed together. Those are global settings, and will apply any time you use Bidule. I can do this because I preset my Bidule rewire settings for 32 channels of audio out. In the PT project using the Bidule in the screenshot, 16 of the individual PT stereo tracks are each fed by two of those Bidule outputs. Lol, there has to be a way. That is incorrect. The only option is to load multiple instruments in one instance, but there's a problem there too, and that problem is that you can't send them to a seperate instrument track channel because to get the sound from that instance, it has to be on the same output settings. Remember now, those are ports, not channels. I've only got two midi ports at the top because that's all I selected in the Bidule rewire setup tab. You've only got 2outport ports at the top and then that's it, so how are you then supposed to load a 3rd instrument? The only problem is that this can't be the best way to do it. When you get it working, go to the bidule interface and "Save as" so you don't have to do all that again.ĭisclaimer: I'm no expert on this, so there may be a better way. The instrument tracks each have one bidule rewire loaded (making sure to set the appropriate audio channels on each instance) and the midi out directed to the appropriate bidule midi channel. In that particular project I have all of those outputs loaded and in use, each on it's own instrument track. Here's a screen shot of mine with 10 stereo outs from Kontakt, and 6 stereo outs from Sampletank: Then you do have to go into bidule while in rewire and make some changes to make it do what you want, like load the VST's, draw in the connecting lines, etc. Note that bidule doesn't know from stereo at this point, so 32 channels equates to 16 stereo. I have mine set 32 audio channels and 2 midi (16 channels each, 32 total). Make sure when you run it in standalone mode (you need to do this first), you go into preferences and rewire and bump up the audio channels to something usable, and optionally up the number of midi ports. A couple of things I remember (now) about mine: OK, I looked at mine to refresh my memory. Also, maybe we can discuss your setup sometime.ĭo you get the message that says, 'There's already a rewire micer application running'?Īlso, if you go to preferences, then go to the midi tab, can you select how many ports you want? I can't view any of this? But I still have a couple of projects setup that way.Ĭheers, i'll take a look. I don't use it that way anymore because the new Kontakt 4 behaves better. This needs to be turned on for Bidule to work as a ReWire slave within Pro Tools on Windows or any other ReWire master application using a Digidesign audio interface."īut I'll check my setup when I get a chance. "Use alternate ReWire bridge -This setting only exists in the Windows version and is primarily aimed at Pro Tools/Digidesign hardware users. Definitely solved the problem.Ī note about Bidule settings from the Plogue website: I put Kontakt (VST) in Bidule, and rewired it into PT. But I pursued that when I was having trouble getting Konatkt 3 to work reliably with PT. I'm not at the studio right now, so I can't remember the details off the top of my head. Dan-Jay, I've used Bidule in the way you are describing.
